Macalloy Tension Bars used within The Arts Institute of Chicago, USA

Macalloy Tension Bars were used within the arts institute of Chicago.

The Chicago Arts Institute Building uses Macalloy tension bars in the roof structure. The tie rods tension the glazed steel frame roof providing a unique architectural finish.

The project was designed by Pritzker prize winning architect, Renzo Piano, and at the time of opening was the second largest art museum in the USA.
